What its like to be a foreign exchange student?

I have not been a foreign exchange student- yet. But in July I leave for Brazil with Rotary. 1st) Are you sure you want to go your sophomore year? Usually that’s too young. I’m going my junior year. 2nd) What program would you choose? I highly recommend Rotary, they are the best! They are the least expensive, and they’re so nice. Chances are you might be able to get a scholarship. Interviews/applications etc. for Rotary usually start in October. 3rd) Those are all great countries, but do you know why you want to study there? If you want to be more unique, it looks even better on college applications because you traveled the road less followed, you know? Also, if you want to go to France you HAVE to know French really well. 4th) Start saving! Rotary comes out to be about $6,000 dollars. AFS is about $10,000 more. 5th) Check out these blogs from current exchange students: http://www.ryeflorida.org/Student
