What kind of burial benefits are Veterans entitled to?

0

When an honorable discharged veteran passes away, he is entitled to a flag which is draped over the casket, folded and presented to the family of the deceased. They are also entitled to a government plaque/headstone. If the veteran was receiving VA benefits at the time of death or died in a VA hospital, the next of kin, or the person responsible for paying the funeral bill is entitled to a burial allowance of $600. And if the veteran dies of a service-connected condition or was 100% permanently and totally disabled for 10 years prior to their death, there is a $2000 burial allowance paid to the next of kin.
