What kind of DMIF primitives are exposed to an application?
DMIF deals with primitives related to the User plane (i.e., transport of media) and to the Control plane (i.e., session signaling messages). We can classify the primitives according to: • Service primitives, which deal with the Control plane and allow the management of service sessions (e.g., Attach and Detach sessions). • Channel primitives, which deal with the Control plane and allow the management of channels (e.g., Add, Delete, and User Commands over specific channels inside a session). • Data primitives, which deal with the User plane and serve the purpose of transferring data through channels (e.g, Send and Receive data).
