What kind of financial support or feedback can I expect from shortwave listeners?
Try to think of your radio program as part of your overall tithes, fulfilling your part of Matthew 16:15: having heard the word yourself from others, it is now incumbent upon you to follow the Great Commission of the Lord, spreading the message of the Gospel to other people in the world, just as was done for you by someone else. The shortwave audience is a wary audience, having suffered through many of life’s perils, pitfalls, and serious spiritual and financial abuses perpetrated by wolves in sheep’s clothing, and will not immediately support broadcasters. It takes some time for the shortwave audience to develop a sense of trust for new broadcasters: you are building new spiritual friendships that take time to develop. As people come to realize that you, your program, and your message are genuine and heartfelt, they will begin to support your broadcast. The main thing to remember is that God’s word does not return void and you are laying up ‘your treasures’ (people’s souls) in heaven.
