All finishes must be installed according to the requirements of the IBC and/or your local jurisdiction. An inherent and distinct advantage of incorporating recycled EPS to make APEX Blocks, is that our blocks yield a coarse and pliant surface that allows finishes to be applied DIRECTLY to our block WITHOUT having to require mesh and/or “chicken wire”. Drywall, stucco, plaster, rock, or veneer and other similar applications become a TWO step process vs. a FOUR step process. Below grade walls require standard waterproofing techniques applied in accordance with IBC Section 1806 or IRC Section R406.
