What kind of fixture, and are 5500K Hamiltons better than 10000K Ushios?
Hi I have a question if I purchase a light fixture that comes ready with 2 MH 175 watt of 5500K Hamilton’s should I upgrade both bulbs to 2 Ushio 10K EACH, plus the 2 actinics, << I think you would like the color better if you did. So I would go with two 10k Ushios, and two actinics. >> the fixture is ( these are the specs), how should I raise it more from my tank so that its not so close? << Well here is where you get to use your DIY skills. I like to build wooden frames, but others use PVC. I guess you should see some local tanks and get ideas about what will work for you. >> And should I take my glass cover from my tank? << I like glass. I like the idea of having glass because it is much easier to clean than cleaning a bulb. You may want glass if you have a double ended bulb for UV reasons. >> or should I get a retrofit with the same specs as this one and send to make a canopy for my tank? thank you much.
