What kind of hardware and software does an IOSONO system typically comprise?
The core of any IOSONO installation is a PC-based rendering and control unit which runs the IOSONO software, and dedicated audio hardware, all integrated into a rack. A graphical user interface provides easy control of the system. The synthetic 3D wave field is produced by a number of IOSONO-certified speaker panels set up along the perimeter of the listening area. To ensure the highest sound quality, the speaker panels are built using premium components and on-board active amplification. State-of-the-art subwoofers are used for subsonic frequencies. If the sound sources are to be manipulated in real time, for example by a DJ at a club, an IOSONO DJ/Live Interface is required. The DJ/Live Interface consists of a JazzMutant Lemur touch screen and a professional analog-to-digital converter unit that accepts stereo audio signals from any source. IOSONO-encoded material can be produced with the help of the IOSONO Spatial Audio Workstation plug-in. It has been designed to integrate smoothly
