What kind of pets to retired Greyhound racers make?
Contrary to popular belief, greyhounds are very adaptable dogs and often take to home life like they had been there forever! They love their creature comforts and adore a snooze on a comfortable and cushioned bed…and many will try and get away with snoozing on the sofa if you let them! As far as food and exercise needs go, a 30-40 minute walk daily is usually more than adequate. For their size, greyhounds are quite small eaters…for a male on a premium dry food diet it is around 3 to 4 cups per day. Being that there are so many greyhounds looking for homes there is usually one that can be found to match your needs…be it apartment living, full time workers, people with cats, people without cats, people that want a dog to use as a therapy dog, and those that just want a good companion.
