What kind of rough opening size do I need for a prehung door?

For all prehung units we REQUIRE that you provide us with your rough opening size. We will build the unit to fit the rough opening size that is provided. If this is for new construction, we normally add 2″ to the height of the door and a total of 2″ to the width of the door for a rough opening. This allows for the thickness of the jamb and leaves an extra 1/2 in width and height to square the unit.
