What level of editing can be expected?
My high caliber of professional editing gets results: Every book that I have edited has been published (with the exception of a major academic work that will undoubtedly be picked up by a university press in the near future, because it will stand as the primary treatment of its topic probably for the rest of human history). To get an idea of how thorough I am in my editing, consider what I did (gratis) for the Jargon File, which is an enormous document. It serves as the primary glossary for computer hackers worldwide, and has been scrutinized by many dedicated volunteer editors and read by countless bright, sharp-eyed, and critical readers. Nonetheless, I was able to find no fewer than 100 errors in it.
