What major/program should I take to get into the veterniary program (DVM)?

The veternary school does not base its decision of a specific major. It is best to look at your second career choice (If you didn’t get into DVM what would you like to do?). Once you answer this question – then chose that major. A lot of student chose the Biological Science major because it offers more flexibility than most majors. For entrance into the DVM program they will look at your MCAT score, academic history and then an interview. For your courses, you need the common science core (1 year of Biology, Calculus, Chemistry, and Physics). For most students, their biology is average but they are weak in the physical sciences so you need to take courses to strengthen that area, i.e., organic chemistry. There are only so many times that you can apply to the DVM program.
