What makes a great chemical engineer?
As a student in chemical engineering, I work hard to gain the skills I will need once I get a job in the field, but it takes more then a good education to become a great chemical engineer. It takes: • Teamwork • Leadership • Experience • A strong work ethic • Dedication • Communication skills • Creativity Leadership is an important quality to have in any field; this is especially true in chemical engineering. It is common for a chemical engineer to be responsible for a certain project’s success, but it is rare that he/she will be the only person working on that project. The engineer needs to be able to lead the team so that the project can succeed. I consider myself a natural leader. Since my junior year of high school, I have coached five basketball teams.
