Recruiting has changed. People can come from other industries and succeed, provided the culture of the company is flexible enough to make the change work. David Lee, the founder of Human Nature@Work in southern Maine, is not a recruiter but an internal consultant who helps companies look at the work experience they offer potential employees. There’s been a change in workforce mentality, he says, that is centered on work/life balance and flexible time issues such as being available for elder care of a family member or spending more time with their own families. “The current generation of workers saw their parents in a sweat-shop like career atmosphere.
