What makes a yoga therapy session different than a regular yoga class?
In a group yoga class, individual needs are difficult to fully meet. Every client has different needs and abilities, so even though a group setting is an excellent way to practice yoga, individual health and wellness needs are not fully met. Private yoga therapy with Lori is grounded in the ancient traditions of yoga. Lori embraces and teaches an 8 limbed yoga practice. Your individualized program will utilize yoga tools that are appropriate and selected especially for you and your needs. These may include breath work and asanas (yoga postures) specifically chosen for their effects and your needs. Other yoga tools that may be used, if determined appropriate, are pranayama and mudras for the energy body, chakra and prana vayu work, visualization, relaxation, yoga nidra, lifestyle recommendations, and the inclusion of ayurveda, the sister science to yoga. As necessary, Lori will also include traditional education on posture and movement, and specific exercises that may be necessary for y
