SRDSM is unique in four ways. First, Samsung has entered into contracts directly with recycling companies, unlike other consumer electronics take-back and recycling programs that rely on intermediaries. Second, Samsung’s recycling partners have committed to not incinerating, landfilling, or exporting toxic waste to developing countries. Third, SRDSM has committed to transparency for our program and will provide periodic reports about our progress. Finally, SRDSM provides consumers with four convenient opportunities to recycle their Samsung-branded and non-Samsung-branded consumer electronics. These include fixed drop-off locations in all 50 states, Samsung-sponsored events, Samsung drives with retailers and business partners, and non-Samsung-sponsored events hosted by our respected recycling partners.
Proudly, Samsung Electronics is an original e-Stewards Enterprise. We are the first OEM to join the e-Stewards program, which we consider validates our commitment to our original SRD principles of operation. From the very beginning of our Samsung Recycling Direct program, we have remained as a dedicated steward to our stated principles regarding responsible management of materials that may become harmful during the end-of-life processing.
