What makes the Industrial Design program stand out from similar programs at other universities?
Choice & Flexibility We encourage students from all programs, including Industrial Design, to mix and learn from each other. Swinburne’s single-3 year Design degrees begin with a common first semester giving all students access to a wide array of skills, and opportunities to learn from staff and students in other programs. Shared studios also occur in later years of the course. The program offers flexibility with choices allowing you to tailor it to fit your needs and specializations. This is achieved through offering students greater depth or breadth in their chosen fields of study by a choice of Co-Major or Minors, either in the Faculty of Design or offered by other faculties. For example, students undertake 16 units in their Professional Major of Industrial Design and have the option of completing an 8 unit Co-Major or two 4 unit Minors in their chosen areas of interest e.g. Interior Design, Marketing.
