What math concepts do paralegals use?

0

In my personal experience I have not used a lot of advanced math in my paralegal career. You will certainly have to be proficient in basic math skills like addition, multiplication, percentages, etc. You may be asked, for example, to prepare HUD1 forms as a real estate paralegal where you will have to calculate pro-rated taxes, sales commissions, etc. The bright side to this is that these days many law firms utilize software programs that perform the calculations for you. Math skills are also important in terms of understanding monetary settlement terms or dividing assets. Other paralegals on the board may be able to offer opinions in other types of practice areas or employment.
