What measures have been taken to protect the coral reefs?
Yemen LNG performed an environmental assessment of the Balhaf bay in September 2005, which included a detailed description of fish and coral communities and an outline of the potential impacts of the project on these communities. In light of this, the plant design has undergone several modifications in order to avoid areas populated by sensitive coral reefs and a number of mitigation measures have been taken.
