What methods should be used to make decisions about improvements in performance?
n Steps have been taken in recent months to improve the collegiality and effectiveness of working relationships with other offices, improve intra-office communication, provide for more frequent staff recognition and engagement, play a more active role in advocacy activities (e.g. regarding policy and funding; for recognition of the quality and productivity of our research enterprise), and create more visibility for the office as well as for the UIs research and scholarship. n In several areas, including DSP, CTO, HSO, OAR, UIRF, and others, attention to the time spent in transaction processing is an important issue. In each of these cases, we continue to monitor our performance and to introduce methods, especially in the form of information technology support, designed to provide researchers with better, faster service.
