What must be done to the RDYRCV# signal when using an external memory controller?

0

For systems that use an external memory controller, logic must be provided to drive the RDYRCV# signal to the i960 VH processor at the appropriate time. If the internal memory controller is being utilized, it is not necessary to drive RDYRCV# since the internal memory controller provides the appropriate signal to the 960 Jx core processor (LRDYRCV#). If only the internal memory controller is being utilized, and there is no occasion for a data transfer to/from another external device not controlled by the internal memory controller, then the RDYRCV# pin should be pulled up to Vcc. The i960® VH Embedded-PCI Processor Datasheet has details on these pins.
