What other problems can develop after an appendix operation (appendicectomy)?
When the body is healing after an appendicectomy some scar tissue will form inside the stomach. This can cause a band of fibrous tissue to form near to where the operation was done. Sometimes a piece of bowel can become stuck under or around this band so that the bowel becomes trapped and its contents can no longer move through it properly.
