What person still living has the highest recorded IQ in the world?
As far as I know, that would be Marilyn vos Savant, who holds the title in the Guinness Book. However, it is hard to tell what her IQ really is because the test for IQ is not designed for such an outlier like her. A standard IQ test is not very good at measuring IQs higher than 167, and hers may actually be as high as 260! She’s from St. Louis, and was born in 1946. As mentioned above, it IS hard to tell for certain if she actually does have the highest IQ, at least right now, until someone devises a better measurement at that high range. Furthermore, it is worth noting that IQ testing in general is quite highly debated in the scientific community for its validity and reliability. EDIT: No one is certain what Stephen Hawking’s IQ is either; we won’t tell anyone because he thinks that IQ measurements are stupid, and everyone is at odds about which assessment to give him. He may be a brilliant physicist, but that does NOT make him the smartest person alive.
