What printing methods does Walle use?
Walle utilizes the two most popular methods of graphics reproduction – lithographic and flexographic printing – for the label products we offer. Sheet-fed offset lithographic printing is a printing process wherein the image area on the plates are neither raised nor indented. The plates undergo chemical treatments that render the image area receptive to ink. The non-image area becomes receptive to water and resistant to ink. Offset lithography is an excellent method for reproducing details, photographs and high line screens. Flexography is essentially a direct rotary printing using flexible, raised image plates and rapid drying fluid inks. The presses are multi-color and web-fed for printing a continuous roll of substrate. Ink is applied to the flexible plate by a ceramic anilox roller consisting of etched cells that hold ink and transfer it to the plate for printing.
