What qualities makes someone a good parent.?

Hi there Kat, It is a well known fact that children learn by example. So a good quality for a parent to have to is to set good examples. Always find time to have some quality time with children, play some games, do some drawing and writing together etc. Children will remember these quality fun times and cherish them when they are older. Give children praise and help them to believe in themselves. Give them respect and, in turn they will respect you. You will need to be firm at times, but remember to be firm but fair. These are the qualities that I implemented whilst bringing up my four children. Now they are grown up, they always tell me about their fond memories of the things we did together. And they have also grown up with confidence, and will tackle most things that come their way. They have all achieved such alot, and I am soooo proud of the adults they have become. The basic role of a parent is someone who brings up their children to fit comfortably into a good society. So your child must be an asset. And the only way they can do that is if they are loved, guided through the pitfalls, cherished, taught, corrected if need be, and provided for. A good parent listens, but remembers that a child is still a child. A wise parent remembers their own growing up years. A loving parent tries to make sure that their child has enough values to fall back on to sustain them when things get tough.
