Nomadic produced the following robotis: • N150 this was the first real robot platform from Nomadics. This is a tri-wheel synchrodrive platform with a set of rubber bumpers. The platform does not come with computers on-board. • N200 this was the first platform with on-board computers. This is basically an N150 with a rotating turret in which on-board computers are mounted. The robot is equipped with 16 ultra-sonic sonars (polaroid variety), and 16 infra-red sensors for short-term ranging. This was a very successful robot design, so it was discontinued by Nomadics! • Scout: The scout is a differential drive platform with a caster wheel. The platform has 16 ultra-sonic sonars. The basic platform comes with a 68332 embedded controller for control. A version of the Scout (named Super Scout) has a single board Pentium computer mounted on-board. This is a stand alone board with a single PCI slot. • XR4000: This was the top of the line platform. It is a platform with a “holonomic” drive syst
