What role did Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 play?
I must admit, at the start of this unit of work, I didn’t even know the game Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 existed. One of the students asked if he could build a model of his roller coaster using Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 and create a video of his ride in action. He wanted to use it in his group’s final presentation. Naturally, I said yes and bought some licenses of the software for all of the students to use. It was a great resource. It enabled students to build their coaster in 3D, virtually “ride” their coaster and use the “CoasterCam” feature to create a video of the coaster experience from the point of view of an amusement park guest.
