What up Pinkstuff, Well first James Naismith is the inventor of basketball. He invented while a counselor at a YMCA– and he believed that kids should be healthy both: spiritually and physicaly. So actually he invented the game as a way to teach kids discipline and the importance of staying healthy physically. i don’t know how far-reaching Naismith thought the game would be. But i know in many inner-cities, and in some rural parts basketball is a great tool to keep kids out of trouble. And for the rest of us- it’s just fun and fantastic to play and watch! All this to say that regardless of what one feels about basketball — the history of it is fantastic because it was created to serve a great purpose- to keep kids healthy and out of trouble– and that’s hard for anyone to hate on. It’s also turning more and more into an international sport and so it’s kind of cool that everyone in the world- there are people (especially kids) that love to play basketball and so that’s really cool.
