What samples do I need to send for the Microdeletion test?
Please note that this test will only be carried out if clinical details stated on the card are indicative of a microdeletion/microduplication syndrome. Vague referrals will not be tested. Send at least 1ml blood in lithium heparin and 1ml in EDTA. If there is insufficient blood for two samples send lithium heparin in the first instance, although this may compromise what tests can be performed.
