What should I discuss with my health care provider before taking chlordiazepoxide and clidinium?
Do not use this medication if you are allergic to chlordiazepoxide or to other benzodiazepines, such as alprazolam (Xanax), clorazepate (Tranxene), diazepam (Valium), lorazepam (Ativan), or oxazepam (Serax). Do not take chlordiazepoxide and clidinium if you have: • narrow-angle glaucoma; • an enlarged prostate; • a bladder obstruction; or • problems with urination. If you have any of these other conditions, you may need a dose adjustment or special tests to safely take this medication: • asthma, emphysema, bronchitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD), or other breathing problems; • open-angle glaucoma; • myasthenia gravis; • ulcerative colitis, or a blockage in your intestines; • kidney or liver disease; • a history of depression or suicidal thoughts or behavior; or • a history of drug or alcohol addiction.
