What solving strategies are there for word ladders?
Many people find that it is actually easier, for whatever reason, to try and attack the word ladder from both top and bottom. In other words make a move at the top and then if the rest does not come easily then look at the bottom word and try to move up the ladder from the bottom rather than move down the ladder from the top. This can sometimes help you see where you need to go and make it possible to solve the puzzle more easily than just going in one direction down the ladder from the top.
