Most of our teaching is done using PCs running Windows. In our Department, there are two MSc labs of about 40 PCs which is where you can do all your MSc work (although, of course, you are free to use other general access labs in the University). It is not essential to have your own PC, but it could be helpful — you will find that the lab gets very crowded when coursework deadlines are near! If you are thinking about buying a computer you could wait until you start the MSc — the University Computer Shop (BUSH) does special prices for students and staff.
