What sound card for Vista x64, 4.1 speakers?

About two years ago I built my primary box that’s still chugging along – Opteron 170 on a DFI NF4 Ultra-D. Initially I used XP x64 on the box and it was quite happy for a long time, but that had a nasty case of bit rot and I recently updated to Vista Business x64. The box does a little bit of everything, gaming, development, office apps, and most of this is done with iTunes or XM online running. However, since I switched from XP x64 to Vista x64, I’ve lost use of my rear speakers due to gunky drivers, or so I think. The speakers, original Klipsch 4.1s, still work just fine, but no matter what combination of bits I flip in the Nvidia drivers, nothing will bring back output from all 4. All I can get is sound from two. At this point the issue is really getting on my nerves. I really enjoy listening to music on this machine, but low and behold, only half my speakers work and it just isn’t the same. The only sound cards I have on hand don’t even work in Vista, much less x64, so they’re out.
