What specimen is required? The FAMILION tests require two 4 ml lavender top tubes (EDTA) of whole blood.
What is the sensitivity of the tests? It is estimated that the FAMILION test will detect mutations in up to 75% of the cases of LQTS, 50-55% of the cases for CPVT, 15-20% of the cases of Brugada Syndrome, and 50-60% of HCM. How long will it take to get test results? Once the analysis begins, test results should be available in approximately 6 weeks for index tests and approximately 4 weeks for Family Specific Tests. They will be sent directly to the ordering physician. Where are the tests available? The FAMILION LQTS and BrS tests are available in all 50 states. The FAMILION CPVT and the FAMILION HCM tests are available in all states with the exception of New York, where written approval from the New York State Department of Health is required prior to testing. Please contact Customer Service at 877-2-PGxHealth if you need a copy of the Department of Health form. The FAMILION tests are also available internationally.
