What techniques are used to discipline large groups?
Each school has a Discipline Management Plan that is updated annually. Techniques in discipline would be a local school option that can be addressed by that school. If schools desire staff development training, they can request it through the Staff Development Office. Traditionally, the teaming process reduces discipline problems. Explain the advisor/advisee program. Advisor/Advisee Programs take place at a designated time within the school day with some frequency to serve the aims of building personal and social development of the middle school students. Usually teachers and other certified personnel meet with the students in small groups. Advisory programs have proven useful in improving teacher-student relationships and in reducing absences. An advisor/advisee curriculum committee will meet in the spring to develop the program for the first year of implementation. Staff training will be provided.
