What the GAS ESCAPE VALVE on Sea-Dweller is used for ?
A. Attention: I am not a diver, so I know nothing about this. In saturated diving, the diver is under great pressure, this Helium Valve can extend diving time. Because Helium molecules are very small, high-pressure gas(often mixed with Helium) can penetrate into the watch, but the watch was designed to undertake the external pressure, not the inner pressure, so in the process of decompression, the high-pressure gas in the watch may burst the glass. On the Sea-Dweller’s case, there is a flexible valve, if the internal pressure is too large, the valve will automatically open. At 10 o’clock on Omega Seamaster’s case, there is also a Helium Valve, but it needs to manually unscrew.
