What type of wave is an electromagnetic spectrum?

0

This is going to sound like a dumb answer. It’s an electromagnetic wave……….That means an electric/magnetic field that propagates at the speed of light and exhibits wave properties (frequency, wavelength, amplitude). The visible spectrum is only a small part of the EM spectrum The electromagnetic spectrum includes the whole range of electromagnetic frequencies. It extends from extra low frequency (long wave) radio down through gamma radiation at the short-wavelength end, covering wavelengths from thousands of kilometers down to a fraction the size of an atom. It’s thought that the short wavelength limit is the vicinity of the Planck length, and the long wavelength limit is the size of the universe itself.
