What types of fixed wire services are available?
There are two types of fixed wire services available: 1. PSTN: Public Switch Telephone Network is the most common form of service which has been available on the Australian market for many years. This is the standard service you find in most homes and small businesses. 2. ISDN: Integrated Services Digital Network service gives you integrated digital access to voice and data networks. It is made up of a digital transmission circuit between your premises and the local ISDN exchange. ISDN services are commonly used by business customers with a PABX system. ISDN can also be used in homes where ADSL is unavailable and there is a requirement for an Internet connection which is faster than a standard dial up service.
