Whilst historically positions working in financial reporting and technical accounting may be more synonymous with the Chartered Accountancy community, we see many opportunities that are equally appealing to ACMAs. These roles tend to focus on “what if” rather than “what was” scenarios in that they provide essential decision support to senior management. These roles are varied, often project-based and extremely visible. Visibility is vital (especially in larger companies) if you want to be noticed and to ascend the career ladder quickly. Similarly we are seeing more CIMA members moving into the corporate finance community. Whilst good prospects will be vital to most of us, doing a job we actually enjoy is equally important.
