What types of techniques are used in LCD technology to produce color displays?
Color LCD use two basic techniques for producing color. The technologies are Passive Matrix and Thin Film Transistors (TFT) often referred as Active Matrix. Passive Matrix is the less expensive of the two technologies. TFT or Active Matrix produces color images that are as sharp as traditional CRT displays, but the technology is expensive.
