What weaponry was used in trench warfare?
to get into the specifics of which army used which rifle, German soldiers were using Mauser rifles (i dont know which models exactly were issued so you’ll have to forgive me) as well as soldiers in belgium and several other countries, British soldiers were using the Lee Enfield rifle (a feat they were known the most for was the ‘mad minute’ in which British soldiers would fire anywhere from 15-30 aimed shots in a minute, an astounding accomplishment for the era), the french used the Lebel gun (no research into this one at all so (shrug) sorry) all of these are bolt action rifles, another side note, when the english first encounterd german soldiers while performing the mad minute, the germans retreated, believing they were running into enemy machinegun fire.
