What were the social causes of the french revolution?

Cold wet weather caused the grain crops to fail, during a time Europe was in a mini ice age. During this time, the French did not want to adopt the potato as a possible crop (as the irish did but, the Irish only went with one kind of potato and as a result of not varying the types of potato they planted, they had the Irish potato famine). The people were starving to death and the government did nothing to help, although it has to be said that there really wasn’t much they could do. It was really the weather conditions that lead to the French Revolution.
