What yields can be obtained with the mini watermelon variety ?
The quantities realizable through growing mini watermelons are not different, even though with lower sized fruit, from the ones that can be obtained with a variety of traditional watermelon, considering both the higher number of pieces produced and the higher unit investment (20,000 plants/ha). Besides, we need to underline that the high potentialities of this innovative market should bring the farmer to aim, more than at selling by weight, at selling by single piece with standardized characteristics of quality and uniformity, thus improving his own production as well as allowing a sure and remarkable increase of the crop profitability.
