Whats blocking IP-addresses about ?
A very simple automatic blocking mechanism is built into AmpJuke. Basically, if somebody from a specific IP-address fails to enter a correct user-name and -password more than a configured number of times, that IP-address will be blocked for at least 24 hours. This happens automatically. You enable this setting on the site configuration page (Login -> Configuration -> Miscellaneous options), by checking (enabling) “Enable banning of IP-addresses” and enter a value in “Maximum number of attempts”, – f.ex. 5. This has the effect that any user coming from a specific IP-address will be banned (not able to login), if the number of failed login attempts exceeds the number entered in “Maximum number of attempts” (f.ex. 5). Please note that this setting is off by default.
