Whats the benefit of using XML?
Using XML is not a benefit, it is a necessity. It is impossible to efficiently run a Global Trade or Supply Chain System without using XML; it is simply too difficult and expensive to exchange data between disparate systems using HTML or EDI. XML, on the other hand, tags electronic information with identifying codes that any computer can understand and work with. This technology represents potentially huge cost savings to our customers. This explains why Capstan designed the system over a year ago using XML as a preferred mode of data transfer.
