Whats the difference between an octopus and squid?
There are many differences and similarities between Octopus and Squid. Probably the most prominent difference between the two is, a squid has 8 arms and 2 tentacles-used for feeding wherea an octopus has only 8 arms. The mobility of the species is different as well. The squid is the most well adapted siwmmer using propulsion. The octopus generally does not use propulsion swimming unless feeling threatened. Each different species of octopus have differnet life spans. Some can be as short as a couple of months or others, like the giant Pacific Octopus can live 5 years.
An Octopus is a more social animal and often takes the time to spearhead community initatives. It’s very outgoing and a big fan of Rammestein and can often be found at their gigs. A squid however has bad BO and a penchant for exposing itself to fish and sea urchins. They generally smoke and have gambling addictions.
