Generic drugs have the same active ingredient as Brand Name drugs – but generally cost less. Both Generic and Brand Name drugs are approved by the Food & Drug Administration (FDA). Specialty drugs are high cost medications and biologicals the are ofter used to treat complex clinical conditions. That usually require close management by a physician because of their potential side effects and need for frequent dosage adjustments.
