Whats the difference between genetic modification and producing designer babies?
i think you are partly right, genetic modification is used for many things, not just babies. it is also used for crops and for growing things. replacing a ‘faulty’ gene in an unborn child could be classed as gm, or as designer babies. it depends on your viewpoint of the faulty gene. if its a gene for say downs syndrome, i think most people would say that replacing this gene would be gm. choosing eye colour, hair colour, skin colour, sex in a child is called designer babies, as these things are just design features.
