Whats the difference between JavaScript and JScript?

0

The difference between JavaScript and JScript is “ava”. Actually, ECMAScript was the original. Netscape implemented JavaScript; and Microsoft implemented JScript. Although many similarities exist, There are differences because of features that IE needed that Navigator did not; there are differences because of mistakes.

Hehe, six years late, but … JavaScript was the original, released with Netscape Navigator 2.0B3 in 1995. ECMAScript was defined as an effort to standardize on a common base for all the different implementations that cropped up as browser implementations needed to compete with Netscape. ECMAScript v3 was released in 1999 and most implementations today stay compatible with it. The DOM is the bigger problem. It is defined separately in the W3C DOM standard and defines how ES interacts with a web page. The first version of the standard was released in 1998 and to this day no two browser engines have implemented it in a fully mutually compatible way.
