Crock pot doesn’t need to be watched, you can start it and leave for the cooking time. Oven, you need to stay there in case you need to add more liquid. Oven turned down low is best for cooking tougher cuts of meat, you can do it in a crock pot but I prefer oven. You can also slow cook a tough roast of beef on stove top in a cast iron dutch oven. I cook the meat for 2-3 hours and then peel about 3-5 pounds of carrots and add washed, pricked potatoes to it and let it cook till veggies are done. (Oh, when I put meat in, I add one whole onion and 1 pkg of dry onion soup mix and then just barely cover the meat with water.) A one pot meal that tastes great! Take everything out and reheat the broth on the stove and thicken for a tasty gravy!
