bodie@plains.NoDak.edu (Justin M. Bodie) explains: &gt Note: I saw this on 20/20 sometime [in 1991]; &gt &gt The three kids were the “biggest” TTA fans ever … they always &gt rushed home to watch the show etc. etc. … so they wrote their own &gt script … almost a storyboard on notebook paper — they drew &gt pictures & everything. &gt &gt They sent their script to their local Fox affiliate, who put the &gt script into an official Fox folder and forwarded it to Amblin (I &gt think Amblin). Thinking this was an “official communique” from Fox, &gt Jean MacCurdy (I think it was her) opened the script, loved it, and &gt eventually Spielberg was given a look at it. &gt &gt The three kids got a call one afternoon from Spielberg [and were] &gt invited to a meeting of the TTA [staff] who asked the kids questions &gt like, “What do you like about the show, the characters, etc.” They &gt also worked out their story with the writers into a format which &gt could be animated.
